Knots in Copper
Limited Edition of 50
Image Description:
It's amazing to me how something as seemingly simple as a knot can be so rich in mathematical complexity, and have such insightful mathematical significance. For over a century mathematicians have studied the intricacies of knot formation, and recently these studies have proven very useful to theoretical physicists and molecular biologists.
In this image I make use of a knot catalogued as 935, the curving path of this twisting virtual copper tubing wrapping through itself nine times.
